Cuando Dios creó a la mujer parece que tenía a una bellísima colombiana-americana en mente. Wow! La actriz y presentadora Adriana Catano que es super talentosa, inteligente, y hasta domina el español y el inglés, es nacida en Miami. Empezó su carrera en el mundo del entretenimiento desde que era una teenager y no ha parado desde entonces.
Samara: ¿Cómo te va en el show de Nickelodeon Latin America Grachi?
Adriana: Me fue super bien en Grachi 1 y en Grachi 2, me divertí muchísimo como mamá de los tres terribles y del protagonista de la serie. ¡Trabajar con niños es lo máximo! Después de no haber hecho novelas desde el 2004 y regresar con un éxito mundial como Grachi ha sido fabuloso para mi.
Samara: ¿Eres reconocida en público por los niños y jóvenes?
Adriana: Sí, de hecho casi todos mis seguidores en twitter son niños y niñas de todo Latinoamérica, Europa y las Filipinas, porque son fans de nuestra serie Grachi! Los amo! Son los mejores fans, de hecho me escriben a diario a mi twitter @catanoofficial
Samara: ¿Cómo sucedió lo del crossover? Porque trabajas en el mundo Latino y en Hollywood, ¿verdad?
Adriana: Nací en EE.UU. y soy completamente bilingüe, por eso nunca voy a abandonar el mercado Latino y siempre voy a trabajar en los dos. ¡Amo a las dos culturas! ¡Son muy diferentes pero las dos son maravillosas!!
Samara: ¿Qué nos puedes decir de la fama y la popularidad?
Adriana: De la fama te puedo decir que no soy farandulera, ni me gusta estar en todos los eventos. Salgo muy poco con personas del medio. Siempre estoy con mi familia y con mi hija y sus amigas. Soy muy privada en cuanto a mi vida personal. Soy una persona sencilla y me encanta cocinar en casa, ir al cine o salir a cenar con amistades.
Samara: Tell us about your seminars…
Adriana: The seminars have been amazing! I had kids fly down from NYC to take the first one and also one girl from South Carolina. Most of the students are already working with agencies, I help them get agents. They have new headshots courtesy of my seminar as well. I have Marc Durso fly in from NYC to teach them basic acting techniques for 5 hours, they learn so much. They get up and work on scenes with partners in front of the class. It’s really really a fun day!! I also have a surprise celebrity guest at the end of each seminar. Osvaldo Rios honored us with his presence at the first one and William Valdes (from Grachi and from Telemundo’s “Rostro de La Venganza” surprised the students at my second seminar. My next seminar will be the 3rd Saturday in January 2013!
Samara: How do you stay grounded and level headed in this business?
Adriana: I’ve been working in show business since I was a teenager, I’ve had so many TV Shows, novelas, etc… Nothing lasts forever and I can not comprehend how certain actors get “big headed!!” We are all the same, this is just the job we chose! I will never ever change!!
Samara: Are you spiritual or religious?
Adriana: I am very spiritual, I constantly give thanks to God several times per day for all of my blessings! If God is not present in your life, you will never feel complete!!
Samara: Will you be writing a book soon?
Adriana: I am in the process now, it will be a book with beauty, nutrition and health tips! I will also include motivational techniques! The power of positive thinking and gratitude!
Samara: What other projects are you working on now?
Adriana: I will begin another Spanish language telenovela in March and in the summer I will begin shooting one in English God willing!! Right now I am and have been the spokesperson for Rooms To Go for 17 years (the largest chain of furniture stores in the USA), I am concentrating on my monthly seminars and I am on the air every Thursday on 95.7 El Zol FM in Miami, Fl sharing my beauty, health and nutrition tips!!
