El ARTE de Gushsan
Háblanos por favor un poco de tu trayectoria y cómo llegas a este punto de tu vida como artista, también dinos por qué cambiaste tu nombre Gustavo por Gushsan.
Soy un artista plástico, mi nombre es Gushsan.
Nunca cambié mi nombre, así inicié, y fue por varias razones, me gusta, suena más artístico, no tiene ninguna relación a ninguna cultura, y me define y me hace único.
He encontrado mi propósito en la vida a través del arte, esto me hace feliz y evolucionar como artista y ser humano, mi trabajo tiene mucho que ver con la energía interna.
Esto lo vengo haciendo desde que estaba pequeño, me divertía dibujando, haciendo cosas en plastilina y jugando, creeando y desarrollando las escenas para utilizar mis juguetes, creeo que los más divertidos eran los que yo mismo hacía. Ya oficialmente, podría decir que inicié en Los Ángeles, haciendo lo mismo que hacía cuando era pequeño pero conciente de la crítica de el entorno por actuar, por ser y pensar como lo hago.
En mi caso la palabra artista simplemente sirve para definir mi comportamiento y mi libertad, digamos que oficializa mi manera de ser.
¿Hay algún concepto o motivación personal sobre la cual desarrollas tus obras?
La belleza, la mujer, la sensualidad, la energía interna de hacer algo que no existe como obra material y poderlo compartir, y que a otros les guste y ver superado el reto y cada vez hacer y ser mejor. Es una evolución constante.
¿Cuáles son los materiales más usados para crear tus obras?
Me gusta aprender, me gusta descubrir, trabajo con lo que tengo, dependiendo del concepto.
Mantengo una mentalidad abierta, elástica diría yo, siempre con el deseo de hacer las cosas divertido, aunque no es fácil.
Describe un poco la técnica que con mayor frecuencia usas.
Pinto en acrílico por ser más práctico para mi, no puedo congelarme y ser riguroso en eso al igual que el estilo, ya que para una evolución debe haber una introspección, es lo importante.
¿Cuál o cuáles de tus trabajos tienen un mayor valor sentimental y por qué?
Todas mis obras han sido valiosas en su momento, aunque recuerde más las que más trabajo cuestan, es normal, me siento orgulloso de todas, aunque he de aceptar que cada que termino una obra se que puedo hacer más.
En estos días es esencial también colocar tus obras, hacerlas públicas, eso es un buen artista, tener obras con sentido y que emocionen o motiven nuestras acciones a otros.
Háblanos sobre la pintura que hiciste recientemente de Cantinflas y por qué es especial para ti.
Cantinflas es especial para mi porque fue un ser especial, comprometido con si mismo y que le encontró un sentido a su vida, por ser simplemente quien era, nunca dejó de ser una persona consiente de la realidad.
La pintura que hice es una caricatura con la intención simplemente de que su imagen sea más fácil de asimilar y relacionar para los niños que no lo conocieron. Nadie puede negar que la energía de Cantinflas y su misión es reconocida a nivel mundial, es para mi un honor trabajar con ese deseo, trasmitir un mensaje, para que cada quien encuentre lo mejor de si mismo, y lo proyecte, admiro esta entrega, y me inpira para seguir adelante con esa misma pasión.
Hay una película sobre Cantinflas que estrena el 29 de agosto.
¿Hay algo que quieras agregar sobre ti o tu obra?
Todos necesitamos acrecentar nuestras ideas, que nuestro entorno nos haga soñar y provocar estas cosas que nos gustan.
Creo que hay que motivar, hay que encauzarnos a la naturaleza, adaptándonos a lo que tengamos que hacer, pero siempre con un objetivo claro.
El 26 de julio tendré una pequeña exibición apoyando a un escritor de libros salvadoreño, el 15 de agosto estaré en el consulado de México, con temas mayas y el 26 de agosto una exibición con la comunidad guatemalteca.
También hago alpinismo y he roto records estatales.

Please tell us a little about your trajectory and how did you get to this point in your life as an artist, also tell us why you changes your name from Gustavo to Gushsan.
As an artist my name is Gushsan.
Never changed my name, that’s how I started, and it was for several reasons, I like it, it sounds more artistic, it has not linked to any culture, and it defines me and makes me unique.
I have found my purpose in life through art, that makes me happy and evolve as an artist and as a human being, my work has a lot to do with the internal every.
I have been doing this since I was a kid, I had fun drawing, making things in clay and playing, and developing play scenes where I was able to include my toys, I think that the most fun toys were the ones I created. Now officially, I could say that my work started in Los Ángeles, doing the same as when I was a kid, but more aware of the criticism of the environment by acting, being and think the way I do.
In my case, the word “artist” simply serves to define my behavior and my freedom; it formalizes my way of living.
Is there any concept or personal motivation on which you develop your art?
Beauty, women, sensuality, the internal energy that guide me to do something that does not exist physically, something that you can share, something that others will like, and the challenge that represent doing it better each time. It’s a constant evolution.
What are the most commonly used materials to create your art?
I like learning, I like to discover, so I work with what I have, depending on the concept.
I’m keeping an open mind; I would say it’s an expandable mind, always wishing to make things the fun way, even if that’s not easy.
Describe the technique that you most frequently use.
I paint on acrylic, that’s more convenient for me, I can’t freeze and be rigorous by using certain style, to evolve I must use introspection, that’s important to me.
Which of your art pieces have a greater sentimental value and why?
All of my pieces have been valuable when created, but I tend to remember more those that took me more time to accomplish, but after I finish each piece I always think that I’m capable of doing more.
These days, it’s important to exposure your art, make it public, that’s a good artist, someone that works with sense and capable of awake emotions and motivate people.
Tell us about your painting of Cantinflas and why it’s special to you.
Cantinflas is special to me because he was a special human being, committed with himself, and he found a meaning to his life, simply by being who he was, he never did lose consciousness of his reality.
The painting that I did is a caricature, so it can be easy to understand and relate to children who didn’t know him. No one can deny that the energy of Cantinflas and his mission is recognized world-wide, it is my honor to work with that desire, to transmit a message to each and everyone who finds the best of themselves, and project it. I admire that personality, and that inspire me to continue with that same passion.
There is a film about Cantinflas that will premiere on August 29th.
Is there anything you want to add about yourself or your art?
We need to enhance our ideas, let our environment make us dream and create the things we like.
I believe in motivation, we must go back to nature, adapting ourselves to what we have to do, but always focused on a clear objective.
In July 26th I’m having a small exhibition supporting a Salvadoran writer, in August 15th I will be in the Mexican consulate, with art and talks about the Mayan legacy. And in August 26th I have an exhibition with the Guatemalan community.
I also climb and have broken State records.
