Born and raised in Orange County, up-and-coming singer/dancer Bobby Newberry tells us his story of how he grew up always singing and would sometimes come home from school to watch TRL to watch and mimic some of his favorite artist such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey and Prince. Bobby would record the live videos of Britney Spears and would study and watch the choreography. Bobby would even stop and rewind to get the moves just right.
As Bobby grew older, his passion for music and dance only intensified as a teen. Bobby enrolled in a talent contest and won. At the age of seventeen after he got a scholarship for dance, he eventually moved to Los Angeles. Bobby quickly went from being an inspiring kid from the OC to singing on the same stage as Mariah Carey this past month at LA Pride. Bobby choreographed and did movement direction for artists such as the Pussycat Dolls, Nicki Miniaj and Eminem. He’s been on many TV shows such as X Factor and It’s a Scary World with Scary Spice, who Bobby says was his favorite Spice Girl.
Bobby says he transitioned into being an artist, and writes his own music, co-produces and does all his own melodies with his music. He’s done and released many singles and EP’s out now on social media platforms. Bobby has a new album out now called Dopamine Roller-coaster. An album with dance and house tracks you can listen to while you are driving with the windows down in the summer, even break up and party songs—as Bobby explains.
“My music goes off like mood and times periods of chapters of where I’m at and what inspires me at the moment,” explains the musician. By staying true to who Bobby is, an openly gay man, sexual, liberated and living his dream, he stays grounded and different from others. “Stay true to who you are as an artist and release what you want to release without being forced or forcing sounds on yourself that don’t feel authentic.” Bobby loves and is inspired by many artists, many he would love to collaborate with, such as Jesse Reyez and Diplo.
Bobby never lost sight of his own dreams of making music and despite his success as a choreographer and producer, Bobby sees himself first and foremost as a singer and songwriter. He’s been working on his music for years, carefully crafting his sound and growing his skills as a performer. Bobby’s music is a unique blend of pop, dance, and electronic influences, with catchy hooks and infectious beats that keeps listeners coming back for more.

What sets Bobby apart as an artist is his ability to bring together his skills as a singer, songwriter, producer, and choreographer. He’s a true multi-genius, with a creative vision that encompasses all aspects of music and performance. Whether he’s crafting a killer dance routine or writing a catchy song, Bobby approaches his work with a passion and dedication that shines through in everything that he does.
