Ahora que ya se han llevado a cabo dos de los desfiles más importantes y representativos de nuestra comunidad como lo fueron Long Beach Pride y CSW Pride, hemos tenido la oportunidad de participar y convivir con muchas personas que representan a nuestra comunidad GLBT y heterosexual.
Fue hermoso y grandioso, observar como todos los que estuvimos ahí presentes ya sea como protagonistas o como espectadores nos uníamos para llevar a cabo varios fines, como lo fueron:
Crear conciencia a los padres que es importante apoyar a los hijos sin importar cuál sea la orientación sexual de estos.
Mandar el mensaje de igualdad de oportunidades y derechos para cada persona, no importando raza, nacionalidad, sexo, orientación sexual o religión.
Demostrar a todos que la comunidad GLBT y heterosexual es muy diversa y que no es posible generalizar cuando se habla de cada uno de nosotros.
También se logró dejar sembrado en los corazones de las personas que tuvieron la oportunidad de observarnos durante el desfile (ya sea por televisión o presentes), que somos seres con mucha creatividad y que ante las adversidades somos capaces de improvisar, pero sobre todo somos capaces de unirnos en busca de un bien común.
Es sumamente importante que todo esto que se logró durante estas dos grandes celebraciones, se siga manteniendo en nuestras mentes y en nuestros corazones todo el tiempo, que ese sentido de solidaridad y esa sensibilidad hacia las demás comunidades no decaiga y que sigamos manteniendo en nuestras mentes que todos y cada uno de nosotros somos importantes, pero sobre todo que todos “somos iguales y tenemos los mismos derechos, aunque seamos diversos”.
A todos y cada uno de ustedes que fueron parte o ayudaron para que estos dos grandes festivales se llevaran a cabo, solamente recordarles que es sumamente importante seguir manteniendo este espíritu de unión y de igualdad, no importando cual sea nuestra nacionalidad, cultura, religión u orientación sexual, ya que estamos viviendo en uno de los estados que posee una alta concentración de comunidad diversa.
Sexual & Cultural Diversity
Now that the two most important festivals that represent our community have come to an end, both Long Beach Pride and CSW Pride, we have had the opportunity to participate and enjoy our time with many people that represent our LGBT and heterosexual communities.
It was beautiful and amazing to see all of us together, both marchers and spectators, united to reach several goals:
Raise parent’s awareness regarding the importance of supporting their children regardless of their sexual orientation.
Send out a message of Equality regarding opportunities and rights for every person, regardless of race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, or religion.
Demonstrate to everyone that our LGBT and heterosexual communities are very diverse and that it is not possible to generalize the realities of each individual.
It was also possible to plant a seed in every one of our spectators (whether it be televised or they were there in person) that we are a very creative community and despite the challenges we are able to improve, and above everything we are capable of uniting for a greater good.
All in all, it was great to witness all that was accomplished during these two great celebrations, we hold on and cherish all the great moments within our minds and hearts, that the sentiment of solidarity and sensitivity towards other communities does not diminish and that we continue to have the mindset that every single one of us is equal and we have the same rights, regardless of our diversity.
To every single one of you, who took part in or assisted with our success during these two great festivals, please remember that it is very important that we continue with this spirit of unity and equality regardless of our nationality, culture, religion, or sexual orientation; remember we are living in a state with a great representation of diverse communities.
