As part of our 25th Anniversary, we are catching up with models from our past covers. Silvino’s cover was the New Year’s edition in January 2011 and was one of our most popular covers, picked up all around town. We were able to catch up with Silvino and glad he is doing well.

La portada de Silvino fue la edición de Año Nuevo en enero de 2011 y fue una de nuestras portadas más populares, recogida por toda la ciudad. Pudimos ponernos al día con Silvino y nos alegramos de que le vaya bien.
What were you doing in life back when you first appeared on the cover of Adelante?/
¿Qué hacías en la vida cuando apareciste por primera vez en la portada de Adelante?
14 years go by fast. Looking back and thinking about those times brings me great satisfaction and pleasure. Those days and times, it was all about learning and surviving. I was a young man and I wanted to do everything in this world. My love and passion for dance was my reason for living in those times of my life. Dance brought me so much joy and I did it professionally for many years. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to express myself in such ways. Dance is a true joy in life for me.
14 años pasan rápido. Mirar hacia atrás y pensar en aquellos tiempos me produce una gran satisfacción y placer. En aquellos días y tiempos, se trataba de aprender y sobrevivir. Yo era joven y quería hacer todo en este mundo. Mi amor y pasión por la danza fue mi razón de vivir en esos momentos de mi vida. La danza me trajo muchísimas alegrías y lo hice profesionalmente durante muchos años. Doy gracias a Dios por darme la oportunidad de expresarme de esa manera. La danza es una verdadera alegría en la vida para mí.
What are you doing or working on now? What are your future plans?
¿Qué estás haciendo o trabajando ahora? ¿Cuales son tus planes futuros?
At this time in my life I’m at peace with all around me. I take life for whatever the journey is with all its ups and downs. I found a love for the art of construction and making older buildings beautiful again and giving them a second chance at life. And in the process of this, making myself happy as well as others when seeing the results.
En este momento de mi vida estoy en paz con todo lo que me rodea. Tomo la vida como sea que sea el viaje con todos sus altibajos. Encontré el amor por el arte de la construcción y por embellecer de nuevo los edificios antiguos y darles una segunda oportunidad de vida. Y en el proceso de esto, hacerme feliz a mí y a los demás al ver los resultados.
Is there anything you’ve learned along the way you’d like to share here with others?
¿Hay algo que hayas aprendido a lo largo del camino y que te gustaría compartir aquí con otros?
There are three quotes that I commonly use: 1). If you fell down yesterday get up today; 2). The best moment of your life is now; 3). If you can imagine it, you can make it happen.
Hay tres citas que uso comúnmente: 1). Si ayer te caíste levántate hoy; 2). El mejor momento de tu vida es ahora; 3). Si puedes imaginarlo, puedes hacerlo realidad.
Is there anything special that you’ve done over the last several years you’d like to share?
Be okay with what life brings your way and receive your destiny with great faith. Never have a doubt that everything is just a passing moment and God has a bigger plan for you than you have for yourself.
Siéntete bien con lo que la vida te trae y recibe tu destino con mucha fe. Nunca tengas dudas de que todo es solo un momento pasajero y Dios tiene un plan más grande para ti que el que tú tienes para ti mismo.
