LATINO VICTORY PROJECT WELCOMES CÁSTULO DE LA ROCHA AND YRTHYA A. DINZEY-FLORES TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Washington, D.C. — Latino Victory Project announced the appointment of Castulo de la Rocha and Yrthya A. Dinzey-Flores to the organization’s Board of Directors.
De la Rocha is president and CEO of AltaMed Health Services Corporation, a health care center that has expanded health care access in Southern California’s low-income neighborhoods. Dinzey-Flores is an innovative cross-sector leader driving philanthropy, social responsibility, and workplace inclusion in the private, non-profit, and public sectors.

“Since the 2020 election, we’ve expanded the Latino Victory Project Board of Directors to include new voices that add policy experience, geographic diversity, and access to resources, as we gear up for 2022 and beyond,” said Luis A. Miranda, Jr., Chairperson of the Latino Victory Project. “We are proud to welcome Cástulo and Yrthya, two phenomenal leaders whose work has helped improve the lives of underrepresented communities from coast to coast. They represent the best in our community committed to Latino Victory’s mission of increasing Latino political power by ensuring more Latinos and Latinas are elected at all government levels.”

Cástulo de la Rocha joined AltaMed Health Services—then La Clínica Familiar del Barrio—as Executive Director in 1977 and has since led its transformation from a storefront clinic in East Los Angeles into one of the largest Federally Qualified Health Centers in the nation. As President and CEO of AltaMed, de la Rocha leads a team of more than 3,000 employees who oversee more than 400,000 patients and managed care members across AltaMed’s network of medical, dental, and PACE sites throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties. He received his B.A. in Political Science from U.C. Santa Barbara and his J.D. from Berkeley Law and currently serves on the Health Tech 4 Medicaid Expert Council. de la Rocha is also a Board Member Emeritus for National Medical Fellowships.

Yrthya A. Dinzey-Flores is the Culture and Operations Chief, Open Society Foundation’s US Program. Dinzey-Flores served on former Governor Andrew Cuomo’s cabinet as the first Chief Diversity Officer for New York State. She kicked off her career at the Robin Hood Foundation and went on to hold leadership positions at Toyota Motor North America, NY State Government, Thomson Reuters, Time Warner Inc./Warner Media LLC, and Open Society Foundation. Dinzey-Flores’ contributions, professionally and civically, have earned her recognition, including Citi & State Responsible 100: N.Y. Business Journal Women of Influence, Fortune Most Powerful Woman List, and The Capitol Rising Stars in Politics 40 under 40. She serves on the boards of The NY Public Theater, The Hispanic Federation, and Latino Victory Project

The Latino Victory Project develops a pipeline of Latino leaders and shapes public discourse to reflect the growing influence of the Latino community while also building cross-constituency alliances that can move the country forward.
