After losing her teaching job in the Catholic school system, a transgender woman has a profound impact on the lives of two children, one with two fathers in marital strife and the other, a recent transplant from a conservative household. When the children form a
unique bond, new questions and old prejudices erupt between all the characters.
The film depicts many of the biases of the larger community that are cruely directed at transgender persons. It also tells a wonderful story of the openess of children to persons who are different and how in many ways their ability to accept others for who they are can be a lesson for all of us.
The film was co-written and co-directed by DAVID BECK and the film stars ALEXANDRA GREY (Empire), ABIGAIL HAWK (Blue Bloods) and CATHERINE CURTAIN (Orange Is the New Black), ELIUD GARCIA KAUFFMAN alongside BECK, HUDSON PAUL, ANDREA ROSA GUZMAN & JACOB MORAN round out the cast.
ELIUD GARCIA KAUFFMAN who plays Adrian was born in Monterrey, Mexico, but grew up in South Texas. Eliud started acting in his high school drama program, but before pursuing acting full time had a successful career in the New York advertising industry. The birth of his twins inspired Eliud to pursue his passion for acting full time. He wanted to be an example to his twins to pursue their passions and dreams. Once he started acting full time, his first TV role came quickly on Law and Order SVU, and this was followed with roles on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, NBC’s Blacklist, CBS’s Blue Bloods, STARZ’s Flesh and Bone, and most recently CBS’s FBI. His big break in movies came with the Roberto Duran biopic Hands of Stone starring Robert De Niro, Edgar Ramirez and Ana de Armas. He booked the role of Duran’s father Margarito Duran off his audition tape. Since then, he has had the privilege of working with extraordinary talent in films such as The Intern (alongside Robert De Niro), Bel Canto (with Julianne Moore), the Mexican thriller Sin Fondo (alongside Manuel Masalva), From Nowhere with Julianne Nicholson and Denis O’Hare (Audience Award at SXSW), Lloro (Best Actor in Leading Role Nomination at the New York International Film Festival).
