VALLARTA PRIDE A HUGE PARTY FOR A SMALL CITY

By: Anthony Gonzalez, Adelante Contributor

While many have been to Puerto Vallarta, commonly known as “PV” in the past, you may have missed out on their Pride week celebration the last week of May. This is a perfect event to kick off the US Pride month of June, as it gives you some of the best weather Mexico has to offer and the beautiful people throughout the city.

It is not just about the clubs and parades either – as every business, hotel, restaurant, and most of the area residents come out to celebrate. There were great beach parties at Mantamar Beach Club and pool parties all over the city for the warm days. If you missed this year, you can start planning for next year’s event scheduled for May 22-29, 2023.

The clubs were packed, so prepare for long lines. Industry Night Club hosts an intense Circuit Pride Festival over the four nights, as well as the many great dance clubs with drag shows and hot go-gos at clubs like Paco’s Ranch, Co-De, CC Slaughters, and La Noche. For those new or haven’t been down in a while, you will find several new bars that have opened to the growing gay community.

The center of the Romantic Zone is closed off for the long weekend and it turns into one huge street party with a large stage, live performances, and some of the best DJs. And to kick off your Saturday night of partying, the Pride Parade starts off in the Hotel Zone and works its way through the city and back into the Romantic Zone, starting at 7pm.

With the global pandemic shutting the event down for the past two years, it was a very exciting time with the best of energy from the international crowd that came down to mix with the locals and people who came in from all over Mexico. If you are looking for a great week to get away and enjoy the beauty of Mexico and her people, Vallarta Pride is the place to go.
